A meat thermocouple is a simple device that measures the temperature of a meat product, such as a steak, and shows the temperature at which it reaches the desired temperature.
Add more salt if the meat turns pink.
If you are not careful, the pink meat will be overcooked.
If the meat appears to be cooked, but the color changes, add more salt.
If that does not work, add the meat to your meat thermometer.
If your thermometer is reading over 200°F, you can add more water to cook the meat until it reaches that temperature.
Remove the meat from the heat.
You will have to cook it again.
Cook the meat in the microwave, oven, or skillet until it becomes firm.
If a little water comes out of the meat, it is done when the thermometer registers 170°F or higher.
If no pink meat is visible, the temperature is at the right temperature.
If it appears that the meat has become overcooked, add some more salt to the meat.
Cook your meat in a slow cooker on low to medium-low heat.
If possible, cook for at least 6 hours.
If not, allow the meat a couple of hours to cook.
When the meat comes out, drain off the excess fat, reserving the liquid that was used to cook your meat.
If any of your steaks or other meats has become browned, add your seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste.
If there is no pink color on your meat, add a little more broth and simmer for another 15 minutes.
