For this article, we asked nutritionists to tell us how much white rice they can get for about $2.

How much of the white rice do I need?

The average person needs about 1/4 cup to meet his or her daily requirements for iron, according to a USDA Food Safety & Inspection Service (FSIS) study.

But if you eat a lot of white grain, the amount you need will vary, and that’s OK, according the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, which is the main source of information for the USDA’s rice nutrition data.

In a 2012 survey, about 20% of people surveyed said they ate too little white rice and more than half said they eat too much.

But for most Americans, the average amount of white grains is 1.6 cups per day.

“If you’re looking for the lowest cost option for a low-calorie, grain-free breakfast, white rice might be the best option,” says Karen Wiedemann, RD, a certified health educator and certified personal trainer in New York City who recommends white rice to her clients.

“The grain is so low in calories and the nutrients, the nutrients are so high in the rice.”

A cup of rice has about 40 calories, and a quarter of that comes from fat, which you can eat in small amounts.

But white rice also contains a number of vitamins and minerals, including thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, folate and vitamin B12.

“You’re eating more of the fat than the calories,” Wiedamann says.

“When you’re getting your vitamins, you’re really getting your calories.”

In addition, a healthy serving of white whole grains has more vitamins than white granulated and white flours, so you’ll get a wider range of nutrients than if you’re eating granulated or flours.

“White rice contains a lot more vitamins and more minerals than the other grains,” says Dr. Michelle McQuillan, a registered dietitian and the executive director of the American Heart Association.

If you eat white rice every day, you’ll also get the following nutrients, according with the National Institutes of Health: Vitamins B12, B12-P, folacin, calcium, iron, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, and zinc-12.

The American Heart Institute recommends a daily serving of 1,000 milligrams of thiamine, and 2,000 mg of folic acid.

“A 1-cup serving of whole grain rice contains nearly 200 milligram (mg) of thiomelatonin,” says McQuinnan.

“That’s more than one-third of the human body’s total daily requirement of this important vitamin.”

Which is the healthiest white rice?

“You’ll get all the nutrients in whole grain white rice,” says Wiedumann.

But there are some notable differences.

White rice contains less fat, protein and carbohydrates than white flour, and there are fewer fiber, iron and magnesium than whole grains.

The USDA recommends a serving of one cup of white (or one serving of any other) white rice each day for women.

For men, you should consume 1,400 milligones of vitamin B-12, 1,200 mg of vitamin A-2 and 800 mg of folate per day, or about 1 cup of whole-grains white rice.

And you should not eat more than 30% of your daily calories from fats, which are mostly from butter, cream, margarine and mayonnaise.

You also shouldn’t eat too many fats or too many carbohydrates.
